Very Merry 3rd Day of Christmas

Merry 3rd Day of Christmas!

Third day of ChristmasThis morning at church, I met with one of my favorite musicians to practice music for upcoming Masses. For nearly two hours we sang, played and, of course, laughed. There is something so beautiful about singing some of our favorite songs with a fellow music lover in a quiet church. I recall my Italian grandmother telling me as a young girl that when we sing we pray twice. It is a beautiful way to share my faith and perhaps inspire hope in others for the week ahead.

Why Three French Hens on the third day of Christmas?

Some say the three hens are symbolic of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Traditionally the hens are said to represent the theological virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. As we move further into the twelve days, it’s a beautiful reminder to carry these three things with us into the New Year.

How are you spending the third day of the season?

Merry Christmas,
~Karen
