Very Merry 7th Day of Christmas

Merry 7th Day of Christmas  

It is already New Year’s Eve, that day when many throw off everything from the past year and get ready to embrace the freshness of the New Year. What have I learned from the challenges, blessings and gifts of 2025? I will keep in mind the lessons learned – discard what did not serve and hold close those which did. This day is a time of anticipation as I set intentions for 2026. I like the promise of new beginnings and look forward with joy to the moments which will be created in the New Year. 

Why Seven Swans a-swimming on the 7th Day of Christmas? 

Seven Swans a-Swimming represent the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Fear of the Lord.  

The seven swans also represent the seven sacraments of the Catholic faith: Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony.
