Saying No Doesn’t Mean You’re for the Status Quo

The ninth Democratic Presidential debate was held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. I have not chosen my candidate yet because the Illinois primaries are still a month away.

I liked what Pete Buttigieg said about Bernie Sanders because I do not think it applies to only Sen. Sanders – it applies to any of the candidates as well as any of their supporters.

Mayor Pete said, “On issue after issue after issue this is what Senator Sanders is saying –

If you are not for him – if you are not ALL the way on his side, then you must be for the status quo.

Well, you know what? That is a picture that leaves most of the American people out.”

I think part of the problem with many passionate people is that some make an assumption if you do not agree with them 100% then not only are you wrong, but you open yourself to personal attacks.

Let’s hope that as the November election draws near, reasonableness will descend on Americans. Everyone should be free to think for themselves, make their own choices and perhaps even agree to disagree.
